SAYLOR, Wm. David, age 84, of Brookville, OH, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Hospice of Dayton.  David was born April 1, 1936, in Rockcastle County, KY, son of the late Willie & Ada (Alexander) Saylor.  The youngest of seven children, David was preceded in death by his 6 siblings, Lucy Boggs, Elva Northern, Bill Saylor, Goldie Harrison, Jewel Bowling & Lona Schuler.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Vessie (Jones) Saylor; 2 daughters, Rebecca Nelson (Tim) and Alva Wright (David); 7 grandchildren, David Nelson (Lisa), Timothy Nelson (Kristen), Matthew Nelson, Sarah Droulias (Josh), Tristan Wright, Evan Wright and Kelsey Tiley (Austin); 6 great-grandchildren, Shawn, Ella, Drew, Lucy, Jake & Caroline; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

David was a founding member of the Christian Life Center where he has spent nearly 50 years serving his church family.  David’s true passion was spending time with family. He was a model father, grandfather, and great grandfather. With the help of his entire family and friends, he was able to build Vessie her dream home in Brookville by hand. David also had a passion for raising and riding his beloved Tennessee Walking Horses. David was a man who never knew a stranger, made friends wherever he went, and shared his faith with all. He would want you all to find Christ’s love and seek his forgiveness.  “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived the things God has prepared for those who love him” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Wolf Creek Pike in Brookville, Ohio with Pastor Stan Tharp officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christian Life Center or Hospice of Dayton.
