Sharon Kay Wendt
Age 75, of Dayton, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, at The Hospice of Dayton. Sharon was born August 23, 1946 in Jeffersonville, Ohio to the late Charles & Iva (McDaniel) Young. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband of over 50 years, John W. Dupre, in 2015; and by eight siblings, Nancy, Rosa, Charles, Anna Lee (Dutch), Carolyn, Ruth, Carey & Michael.
Sharon was a member of Cassel Hills Church of Christ; she was active in several women’s card groups and she was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Stanley A. Wendt; daughter, Kristi Saathoff & her husband, Craig; two step-children, Alan Wendt & his wife, Lisa and Wenddi Lowe & her husband, Doug; four grandchildren, Kristen (Josh), Derek, Cole & Jake; three step grandchildren, Logan, Evan & Lauren; and by four great grandchildren, Abby, Chloe, Sofia & Beckett.
The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, at Cassell Hills Church of Christ, 836 Brown School Road, Vandalia. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with David Edmonds officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that donations be made in memory of Sharon to the Church of Christ Disaster Response Team. Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
