Robert W. Morgan

Age 84, of Russell’s Point and formerly of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019, at his home. Robert was born January 27, 1935 at home in Dayton, Ohio  to the late Robert Clay & Ruth (Bailey) Morgan. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Lou (Miller) Morgan in 1977; and by siblings, Virgil McGraw, Michael McGraw & Larry Morgan.

He was a U. S. Navy veteran and a Corp Man with the Marines and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge (F.O.E.).  Robert was an exceptional athlete who lettered all four years of high school and played baseball for the Navy.  

Robert is survived by his loving wife of the past 36 years, Connie (Steiner) Morgan; children, Andy Morgan (Joann), Leslie K. Jackson, Cindy Peffley (Tim) & Robin Kussman (Mark); step-children, Mark Pickering (Debbie), Barbara Burlingame (Doug) & Becky Carver (Paul); three siblings, Earl Morgan, Jimmy Morgan & Barbara Smith; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren on the way, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Pastor Joe Angels will officiate. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers contributions should be made in memory of Robert to the Alzheimer’s Association.
