Patricia Young-McFaddin Obituary

YOUNG-McFADDIN, Patricia J. (Colquette), age 89, of Grayson, Georgia, formerly of Vandalia, Ohio, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Northside Hospital Gwinnett, Lawrenceville, Georgia.

She was born, August 4, 1931 to Vernon T. and Thelma M. (Nicholson) Colquette in West Monroe, Louisiana.  She grew up in Crossett, Arkansas with her father and step-mother, Verniece (Riley) Colquette.

Patricia was an active member of First Baptist Church, Vandalia for 61 years, singing in the choir, participating in the Classics Group, and helping in the nursery.  She loved working in her yard and flower beds and took joy in the care of her home.  Patricia was employed by the Vandalia-Butler School system, retiring after more than 30 years at the high school and board office. 

Patricia was preceded in death by William J. Young, her husband of 38 years and her second husband, Isaac M. McFaddin; and sister, Pennye Miller.  She is survived by her brother, Paul (Donna) Colquette and her children, Cindy (Steve)  Johnson, Bryant Young, Laura (Gil) Walton; and grandchildren, Megan (Johnny) Small, Zach Johnson, Heather Miller, Jessica (Andy) Jones, Casey (Randy Richardson) Young, Emily (Scotty) Allgood, Luke Walton, Seth (Kerry) Walton, Sam (Brianna Innocent) Walton, and Molly Walton; and 13 great-grandchildren. 

Interment will be a private Memorial Service, Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia.  If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Dayton.  Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia and Wages & Sons Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
