Judith E. Hayes

Age 79, of West Carrollton, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Judith was born June 16, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Robert A. (Sr.) & Mae E. (Cook) Scudder.

She is survived by three sons, J. Jonathan Hayes (Julie), Brendan Hayes & Timothy Hayes; one brother, Robert A. Scudder, Jr (Dougie); seven grandchildren, Madison, Sydney, Elise, Nate, Lauren, Armand & Kale; and by the father of her children and ex-husband, James Hayes.

The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Dale Hayes officiating. Interment of cremains will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Because of a rare disease that one of her grandchildren is dealing with, Judith was an advocate for rare disease research. In honor of her memory, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Cure GM1 in her memory. Their website address is: www.curegm1.org.
