John Stratenberger

John Robert Stratenberger passed away January 25, 2020 while at home with loving family close by. John was born March 15, 1957 in Dayton, Ohio to Ida Mildred and the late James Richard Stratenberger.

Surviving are two sisters, Karen Burden and husband Steve, Millie Webb and husband Don, many, many nieces, nephews and great as well as great-great nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He was very close to all, but his nephews, Jimmy and Steven, and his nieces, Christina and Tanya were like brothers and sisters to him.

John was preceded in death by his father, James Richard Stratenberger and his brother, Jim Stratenberger.

John was known to always be ready with a joke or to tease, especially with one of the children, and he loved playing bingo with his friends at Valley Street Bingo. Most of all, he loved the many children in the family, and they all loved him very much. He was most happy when the children came by to visit. Sunday dinner was always a special day to him because so many family members would show up. John will be missed by so many, many friends and family.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, January 29, 2019 at Morton Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S Dixie Dr, Vandalia, Ohio with burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery, 8135 North Dixie Drive, Dayton.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until time of service on Wednesday.
