Jeffrey N. Higgins

HIGGINS, Jeffrey Noel, 61, of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021. He was born to Charles & Glenna Higgins on Dec. 26, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio. Jeffrey was a member of several Masonic Lodges and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving and compassionate father, son, friend, and community member. He was kind-hearted to all others that came in contact with him and was known to crack a joke every chance he could. He would give the shirt off his back and be of service to others without a bat of an eye. He enjoyed working with his hands in crafting and building whatever ideas he or others conspired. He was also an active participant and supporter in his daughter’s seasons of dance classes and performances throughout their childhoods. He even participated in several group dance performances with other fellow dance dads. In his last years of life, he lived with the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and passed from the progression of the disease.

Preceded in death by his father, Charles Higgins.

Survived by his daughters, Kelsee Reeser (Kyle) and Meredith Higgins; the mother of his daughters, Leesa Boyd; his mother, Glenna Hartman-Higgins; sisters, Christi Ware & Megan Omlor; nieces, Marisa Borton & Keira Omlor; nephew, Colin Ware; best friend, Greg Smith. A gathering of family and friends will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia.
