Harold E. “Harry” Whitmer

Age 94, of Butler Twp., passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Randall Residence in Tipp City. Harry was born January 7, 1928 at home in Butler Twp. to the late Windsor DeWitt & Elma (Jackson) Whitmer. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Jeanne (Cotter) Whitmer; and by two sons, Patrick & Jack Whitmer.

Harry was a long-time member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. He retired as a Claims Adjustor for State Auto with 33 years of service. After that he drove school bus for Vandalia-Butler Schools for another 10 years.

Harry is survived by three children, Rex & his wife, Barbara, Rick & his wife, Debbie & Robin Hawk & her husband, Scott; grandchildren, Brian, Jesse, Rachel, Ileah, Brandon & Josh; great grandchildren, Matilda, Jude, Aubrie, Conor, Ethan, Aden, Anika & Kayla; and by his extended family & many good friends.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Polk Grove Cemetery in Butler Twp.

If friends desire, contributions may be made in memory of Harry to Day City Hospice.
