Miller, Gloria A. age 90 formerly of Tipp City, passed away Monday July 27, 2020 at Jamestown Place Health & Rehab following an illness. Gloria was born April 15, 1930 in Dayton, daughter of the Leo & Tressa (Neff) Himes. Gloria was a former member of St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Dayton. Gloria worked as a telephone operator during WWII; she was a longtime member of the Dayton Garden Club; she spent summers at the Phillips Aquatic Club while her kids were growing up as well as spending time working the concession stand at the North Riverdale Little League. She and her husband Harold were active members at Our Lady of Mercy, finding themselves involved in numerous church activities. After Harold’s retirement, they began wintering in Gulf Shores, AL and spending their summers at Indian Lake. Gloria had a love for dogs; she loved spending time outdoors, gardening, fishing, and feeding the wildlife that visited her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold; one son Gary Miller; one brother Walter P. Himes and one sister Phyllis Kroger. Gloria is survived by 2 sons David & wife Diane Miller of Jamestown, Jim & wife Lisa Miller of Beavercreek; 5 grandchildren Bethan, Greg, Amy, Peyton, and Reilly; great-grandchildren Ammon, Sariah, Isabelle, Eli, Wyatt, Jasmin, Jacob and Adyson and a host of other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday Aug. 1 at 11:00am at St John the Baptist Catholic Church 753 S. Hyatt St Tipp City. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday morning from 10 to 11am.
