Dwaine H. Ryherd

RYHERD, Dwaine H., age 89, passed away at his home in Vandalia, Ohio on June 17, 2020.  Dwaine was born March 13, 1931 in Gamaliel, Kentucky to Edd Lewis and Iva (Proffitt) Ryherd.  He married Martha Suzanne (Sue) Anderson on March 9, 1956, and preceded him in death on February 25, 2013.  Dwaine is survived by his four sons, Gary and his wife, Debra of Vandalia, Marcus and his wife, Beth of Clarksville, TN, Jeffery and his wife, Beth of Carlisle, OH, and Bruce and his wife, Brenda of Terre Haute, IN; one brother, James of Gamaliel, KY and one sister, Faye Oye of Arthur, IL.  Dwaine was the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the 3rd Infantry Division in Korea during the Korean Conflict.  Dwaine worked for Transcon Lines for more than 30 years and Sydney Trucking and Storage before retiring.  Dwaine enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and of course his pets.  Dwaine was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers, Clyde, Carl, Audie, and Paul Ryherd and four sisters, Essie Harlin, Wilma O’Banion, Eva Whitis, and Dean Davis.

Funeral services are currently pending and have been entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
