Betty Kay Obituary

KAY, Betty L., age 97 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021.  Betty was born September 27, 1924 in Bradford, Ohio, daughter of the late Aaron L. & Elsie (Boucholtz) Miller.  Betty was a true “domestic engineer,” taking care of her home, her garden, and most of all her precious family. Her greatest treasure was taking care of all of the babies in the family over the years.  Betty was a woman of faith whose prayers were always answered.  She attended Vandalia United Methodist Church and Ginghamsburg Church over the years.  She was an avid OSU football fan and loved her Buckeyes.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George H. Kay; brothers, Glen Miller and Norman Miller; and sister, Thelma Lavey, Betty is survived by her sister, Eileen Manson; children, Sherri K. Bishop, Jim Kay, Jeffrey Kay, Julia Blaine and Lisa Kay; 9 grandchildren, Shelley, Dallas, Tiffany, Bethany, Jimmy, Aaron, Melissa, Justin and Daniel; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm, Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia.  The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Betty’s favorite charity, The Wounded Warrior Project.   Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
