Carver, Betty D., age 86, of Vandalia, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 22, 2022. Betty was born April 6, 1936, in Portsmouth, Ohio, daughter of the late Jesse and Ruby (Ramey) Franklin. She was a founding member of the East Dayton Freewill Baptist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, David in 1985; two children, John Carver and Shelley Brown; two grandchildren, Jessica Brown and Mandy Hutchison; and five siblings, Inez Jean, Jesse Junior Franklin, Kathleen (Bill) Hammons, Paul (Karen) Franklin, Analene (Vernon) Beasley, sister-in-law Sharon Franklin and brother-in-law Bobby Roberts. Betty is survived by three children Deena Casada, Steven (Kathy) Carver, Kelly (Tom) Macy and son-in-law Ronald Brown; three siblings Jimmy (Esther) Franklin, Jerry Franklin, and Mary Sue Roberts; 14 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren along with a long list of extended family and friends. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, September 26th at Morton Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia with Mr. John Seagraves officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:30 am until the time of service.
