Barbara J. Bailey
Age 83, of Tipp City, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Koester Pavilion Health Care Center in Troy. Barbara was born December 16, 1939 in Germantown, Ohio to the late Ralph E. Moses & Dorothy E. (Holbert) Hulburt.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen Bailey; one son, John Baltes; three grandchildren, Monica Bailey, Lori Bailey & Lydia Baltes; and by several siblings.
Barbara was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star; she was an avid traveler who loved Hawaii and cruising. She was an entrepreneur and business owner of Suggestive Somethings Boutique for 25 years (across from Maggie’s bar).
Barbara is survived by three children, Ronda Bennet & her husband, Tom, Randy Bailey and Tim Bailey & his wife, Teresa; daughter-in-law, Lydia “Chris” Baltes; nine grandchildren, Danielle Ware, Raizor Sharp (Heather), Dylan Sharp, Raichel Sharp, Savannah Hess (Ryan), Christian Bennet, John Baltes, Shannon Glover (Jody), Brad Bailey (Amber), Scott Bailey, Mathew Bailey, Adam Bailey (Linsey) & Michael Bailey; 14 great grandchildren; and by her “adopted” foreign exchange student daughter, Leiko Inui & her husband, Takashi, and their six children.
The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 – 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 7, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 pm with Pastor Jim Welch officiating. Entombment will be on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville.
