William R. Highley Sr.
Age 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 31, 2025, after a life marked by faith, integrity, and devotion to family. He was born on February 22, 1939, in Middletown, Ohio, to Ed Highley and Edith Hacker.
He is reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife of 61 years, Judith Ann (Caldwell) Highley. He is survived by his children: Julie (James) Clapp, Janet (Tom) Poliquin, RaeJean (Todd) Gindelberger, and Bill Jr. (Holley) Highley. He was a proud grandfather to Jodi Davis, Zach Highley, Victoria (Chris) Brown, Caleb and Tyler Gindelberger, and 10 great-grandchildren: Dylan, Lillian, Lincoln, Kristian, Ellison, Coulson Davis, and Cameron, Katie, Liam, and Claira Brown. He is also remembered fondly by extended family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
William served faithfully at the Huber Heights Church of God, where he devoted himself to Sound and Technology, Security and Fire Systems, and served as a Trustee. His quiet leadership and steady hands were foundational to the church’s ministry and worship.
He dedicated his professional life to service and security, working for Ohio Bell, AT&T, and later Steven’s Security. In each role, he was respected for his work ethic, technical expertise, and dependability.
William had a servant’s heart and a quiet strength that was most visible in the way he cared for others. He was a devoted caregiver—not only to his beloved wife Judy during her battle with Alzheimer’s, but to many in his family. Whether it was offering a ride, fixing something that was broken, he gave of himself without hesitation or need for recognition. His dependable presence, quiet spirit, and unwavering support brought comfort and stability to those around him.
William was a man of steadfast faith, practical wisdom, and deep humility. He enjoyed working with his hands, solving problems, and spending time with his loved ones. He had a special appreciation for Southern Gospel music and shared a deep bond with his wife through their travels and shared service.
His life was a reflection of quiet strength, faithful service, and enduring love. His legacy lives on in the lives of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were impacted by his example.
