Wayne Williams

WILLIAMS, Wayne A., age 77, of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. He was born June 29, 1948, in Portsmouth, Ohio, son of the late Wayne and Margaret Jean (Topping) Williams.

Wayne was a member of the Covenant at Sugar Grove Church, was an avid gardener and fisherman, and was known for helping his neighbors. Wayne was very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Mary Ann, Wayne is survived by his daughters, Melissa Ritchey (Jon) and Jennifer Williams; grandchildren, Brittany (Damon), Joshua (Lexi), Matthew, Timothy (Kaylashae) and Jacob (Emily); great-grandchildren, Torah, Everett, Abram and Joshia; brothers, Fred (Sonnie) Williams, Glenn (Debbie) Williams; sister, Susan Bunting (Dave); along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm, Tuesday, April 14, at Covenant at Sugar Grove, 7875 Kessler-Frederick Rd., Tipp City, OH 45371, with Pastor Matt Claude. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Brookville. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Covenant at Sugar Grove Church in Wayne’s memory.
