Verba Lou Johnson

Passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. She was born August 27, 1933 in West Milton, Ohio to the late Walter & Lucille (Applegate) Krug. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Joe Johnson, in 1993; her mother-in-law, Thelma Preston-Gunder; and by eight siblings, Lamar, Jay, Bill, Steve, Ted, Cheril & Bud Krug and Pat Banks.

Verba is survived by two sons, Tim Johnson & his wife, Renee and Jeff Johnson; three grandchildren, Sarah, Michael & Noah; two siblings, Larry Krug & Mary Jane Casey & her husband, Tom; and by her extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 6, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. A funeral service to honor Verba’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dave Ringhiser officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
