Age 76, of Huber Heights, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. He was born October 15, 1949 in Dayton to the late David & Reva A. (Arnett) Beams.

Age 76, of Huber Heights, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. He was born October 15, 1949 in Dayton to the late David & Reva A. (Arnett) Beams.
Vaughn was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army. For over 20 years he served as a volunteer deputy for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Vaughn was also a member of the Northridge Kiwanis Club and served as an elementary school substitute teacher in various local schools. He was also a long-time blood & platelet donor with over 200 donations. In keeping with his desire to help people, Vaughn was also a registered tissue donor. For many years he volunteered with the local food bank and was a member of many masonic organizations.
Vaughn is survived by his loving wife of the past 20 years, Janis L. (Wigley) Beams; one sister, Deborah A. Moore & her husband, Robert E.; his good friends of many years, David E. & Patricia S. Farrar; and by his many friends at Faith Presbyterian Church where he and Jan have been active members for many years.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 29, at Morton & Whetstone funeral home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday (6/30) at Faith Presbyterian Church, 5555 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights. Rev. Julia Williamson will be officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Vaughn to the Arthritis Foundation.
