Tressa Frances Snowden

December 27, 1932 — October 1, 2025

Cincinnati

TRESSA SNOWDEN, Age 92, took her final journey to meet with those in Heaven on Wednesday night, October 1, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Floyd Snowden and her youngest child, Christy Lynn Potter. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Lois, Lena and Hallie.

She is survived by her remaining children, Kitty (Danny) Bartlett, Karen (and the late Jerry) Haupt, Mark (and the late Patti) Snowden and his dear friend Darlene, her son-in-law Don Potter, and her sisters Cathy Pickens and Sharon Brown, and her brother Larry (Paula) Pickens. She leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tressa was a devoted Christian and loved studying the Bible, especially with her daughter, Karen. In fact, she lived with Karen for quite a while before she passed and they grew closer than ever. And for a while during that time, she lived with her granddaughter, Holley Highley, and her husband Bill Highley near Austin. She loved it there and made major health advances under their care. They all loved each other and enjoyed their time together very much. Finally, she returned to Karen’s home.

She was a huge Reds fan, just like her own Mom, and always listened to the games on TV or over the radio. She loved wearing her own Reds gear.

But most of all, she loved trapshooting! She was a Lifetime Member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association and enjoyed every minute of it. Being a somewhat rare woman in the sport, and being left handed as well, gave her some notoriety. She won state trophies in Ladies Singles, Doubles and Handicaps. She once appeared on the Phil Donahue Show representing “Women In Sports.”

She also enjoyed fishing. To be such a little woman, she lived large. She gave her love 100% to her family.

Graveside services will be held at Polk Grove Cemetery with family members officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your own choosing in Tressa’s memory - this was her wish.
