Shirley A. Hellegaard

HELLEGAARD, Shirley A. (Holland-Brown), born June 29, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio, passed away June 4, 2014 in Orange City, Florida. Survived by her beloved husband, Albert; two sons, Ty and Rodney Brown; granddaughter, Sydney Ann Brown; sister-in-law, Diane Scholl of Debary, FL; niece, Debi Pleasant; nephew, David Pleasant; great-niece, Abi Pleasant and her grand-nephew, Vincent Teague. Shirley was a graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School and the Dayton Beauty Academy. She also spent 15 years working at the Ponderosa Corporation Headquarters. Shirley enjoyed spending time as a Hospice volunteer as well. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 11 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm and also on Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Volusia Care Center, 1625 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Orange City, FL 32763 in Shirley's memory.
