Sherman Dale Brown, II “JR”

Age 50, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Kettering Medical Center – Main Campus. JR was born April 22, 1974 in Dayton to Sherman Dale & Phyllis Jean (Osborne) Brown. His mother preceded him in death.

JR was a Union Carpenter and was an avid basketball player and Ohio State Football fan. He enjoyed boating and exploring new restaurants. Most of all he enjoyed having a drink (or two) while visiting with his family and cooking out.

JR is survived by three children, Alexis (Kyle) Brown, Sydney Brown & Braxton Maiolo; three grandchildren, Nolan, Dawson & Hunter Busch; four siblings, Sherry (Tracy) Sirch, Sonya (John) Baker, Stacey Brown-Hodge & Spencer Brown; nieces & nephews, Chrissy, Dustin, Katie & Preston Sirch, Dalton Hodge & Marshall Boehenick; and by his extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Friday, September 13, at Morton & Whetstone funeral home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 pm with Matt Bayman officiating. Following services at the funeral home family & friends are invited to gather at the American Legion, 377 N. Third Street in Tipp City to celebrate JR’s life.

Inurnment will be at a later date at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City.
