ZAWADZKI, Sharon R., age 86 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025. Sharon was born August 6, 1938 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Roger & Mary (Nice) Strange. She was a graduate of Patterson Co-op High School, Class of 1956 and the University of Dayton in 1960 where she was a cheerleader and met the love of her life, Ray. Sharon was a teacher with the Kettering and Vandalia-Butler School districts, but her true passion was being a homemaker and stay-at-home mom. She loved God and family, Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior and all her friends. Sharon loved basketball and playing golf and being a part of the Vandalia-Butler community.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ray; 2 children, Raymond & wife, Cheryl and Mark & wife, Shari; brother Jerry Strange & wife Hilda and sister Marilyn Shaw; 6 grandchildren, Alexa (Ross) Vagedes, Kellen (Lacey) Zawadzki, Grant (Cassidy) Zawadzki, Emily, Andrea and Olivia Zawadzki; 8 great-grandchildren, Sage, Nash, Jaxon, Lawson, Kylee & Parker, Griffin and “Baby Z” along with a host of extended family and wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, May 18 at Living Word Church with Pastor Joel Murray officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 pm until time of service. Private interment will be arranged at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia, Ohio.
