Sharon Baker

Age 81, of Butler Twp, passed away Friday, October 9, 2026, at The Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. Sharon was born October 17, 1944 in Dayton, the daughter of the late Doris & Virgil Cate. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Victor Baker, in 2017; and by one daughter, Christina Carpenter.

Sharon was a member of several local AMVETS and American Legion Posts. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the western part of the country along with attending car shows with her late husband, Victor.

Sharon is survived by two daughters, Candy Salyer & Mickie Hudson (& her husband, Jim); eight grandchildren, Allen Salyer, T. J. Hudson (Maria), Nicole Jones (Travis), Joe Leonard, Sara Lewis (David), Kyle Leonard, Amber Stoodt (Colin) & James D. Carpenter; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Dan (Italia), Vickie (Jerry) & Bud (Brenda); and by her extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 15, at Morton & Whetstone funeral home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Sharon to The Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
