Shannon Ray Cordray

Age 49, of Tipp City, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 28, 2026. He was born July 25, 1977 in St. Mary’s, Ohio to Clayton Prater & Betty Cordray. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donald & Joan Cordray.

Shannon was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a regular at the Vandalia Rec Center and loved going out to eat. He will be remembered as having a huge heart.

Shannon is survived by his mother, Betty Hecht & her husband, Mick; one son, Zachary Cordray & his wife, Katie; one granddaughter, Elylah; two siblings, Amber Jo Cordray and Aaron Charles Huff; six nieces & nephews; his closest friend of many years, David Latta; and by his extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 5, at Morton & Whetstone funeral home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kurt Lammi officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Shannon to your local Humane Society.
