Craig Scott Meece
Age 69, of Centerville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Scott was born May 8, 1957 in Dayton to the late Orville “Tuffy” & Shirley (Bolinger) Meece. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Cindy Lowe; and by his beloved uncles, Bobby Bolinger and Kenny Hesler.
Scott is survived by his sister, Connie, and her husband, Todd Siefker; and by many beloved nieces, nephews & cousins as well as his aunts, Bonnie Bolinger & Carla Hesler.
Scott was a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend. He deeply loved his family and friends and treasured the relationships he shared with them.
Scott worked for Dayton RTA for many years, as well as with Domestic Action. He had an incredible knowledge of buses and genuinely enjoyed riding them. He retired from RTA five years ago.
For the last four years, Scott made his home at St. Leonard, where he was well cared for and formed many meaningful connections.
Scott will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for those closest to him, and the joy he found in the simple things he loved.
The family will be receiving friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 10, at Morton & Whetstone funeral home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. A celebration of Scott’s life will begin at 1:00 p.m. with family & friends being given the opportunity to share memories & stories. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Scott to the donor’s favorite charity.
