Ruth Marie Crum

Age 84, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. Ruth was born January 19, 1942 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Jack & Katie (Riffe) Hall. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Crum; sons, Norman Edmunson, Sean Letner; daughter, Jackie Nichol; and by several siblings.

Ruth was a dedicated Social Service Worker for Greene & Montgomery counties for over 40 years.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Don “Pete” Letner and Jeff Letner; several grand and great grandchildren; great family friend, Tammy Flynn who cared for Ruth for several years; and by her extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 3, at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Dan Hall will officiate.
