Ruby Couch (Lewis) went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2024. She was 94 years young.
Ruby was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Her kindness was unmatched, and she had a heart of love from the Lord. She always made you feel like a part of the family even if it was the first time you had met. She truly was the neighborhood grandmother.
She was married for 43 years to Asbel C. Couch Jr. They had eight children, four boys and four girls.
Ruby was born in Blue Diamond-Harveyton Kentucky and relocated to Dayton, Ohio where she worked for 34 years at Esther Price Candies.
To know Ruby is to know that she had a love for the Lord, and was a devoted member of Landmark Baptist church.
She is preceded in death by her mother Mae Lewis (Campbell), father Herbert Lewis, and siblings Martha, Samuel H., Helen Louise, John, Mary, Jim, Glen, Shirley, Elhanon (Vic), Longle Lee, and Hazel Irene.
She is preceded in death by husband Asbel C. Couch Jr., and children Marsha Cantrell (Couch), Asbel C. “Bo” Couch lll, and Steven W. Couch.
She is survived by her brother Wallace Lewis and children Ronald Couch (Linda), Donald (Chris), Connie Coffey (Steve), Kathy Beach (John), Mary June Ross (David), and Donna Couch (Steve).
Ruby had 18 grandchildren: Amy Coffee, Anna Platte Pantazakos, Jimmy Couch, Donald Couch , Cheryl Metzner, Robbie Cantrell, Constance Combs, Donald Couch, Darren Couch, Duke Couch, Stephanie Alvarado, Michael Coffey, Johnny Beach, Steven W. Couch ll, Dona Couch, Jennifer Buttery, Jessica Jourdan, and Julia Lipscomb.
Ruby was also the loving grandmother to 45 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great grandchildren.
