Robert E. Spence

Age 80, of Troy, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016, at his home. Bob was born February 26, 1936 in Morgan Co., KY to the late Hassel & Mary Elizabeth (Trimble) Spence.

For over 50 years he was a member of the New Carlisle Masonic Lodge # 100 and the Antioch Shrine in Springfield. Bob was also a member of the New Carlisle F.O.E. # 3491, the Troy F.O.E. # 971 and the Troy AMVETS # 88.

He is survived by his loving companion of the past 14 years, Nancy Neth; two daughters, Michelle Robertson (Tim Weneck) & Theresa O’Neil (Bill); Nancy’s daughters, Stephanie Schilling (Bill) & Linda Osborne (Donnie) and their children; sister, Peggy Yates; two grandchildren, Amanda Sweigard (Aaron) & Nicole Hartsock; and by four great grandchildren.

A celebration of Bob’s life will start at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, at the New Carlisle Eagles, 376 Quick Road, New Carlisle, Ohio. A Masonic service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., to be followed by an Eagles memorial service at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Bob to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
