Robert C. Macpherson
Age 73, of Butler Twp., passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Bob was born May 4, 1952 in Dayton to James W. & Betty A. (Senne) Macpherson. He was preceded in death by his mother; and by his step-brother, Keith Gaw.
Bob was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus (3rd & 4th degrees), a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 466. He was a lover of all animals, especially his dog, Freya. Bob graduated in 1970 from Fairmont West High School, worked for Duellman Electric Supply for 25 years and went on to Electrical School. For 20 plus years he took care of the animals at Helke Elementary School as well as running his own electrical business and instructing electrical students.
Bob is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lenita A. (Barksdale). For the past several years Bob showed his unconditional love and care for Lenita during her battle with Alzheimer’s. In addition to Lenita, Bob is also survived by his father, James W. & his wife, Anna Mae Macpherson; three children, Lachele Henson, Steve Henson (Cristy) & Christian Macpherson; six grandchildren, Lindsey, AJ, Sam, Jack, Tyler & Alyssa; four siblings, James Macpherson (Amy), Vicki Bowling (Gary), Julie Cotterman (Tony) & Darlene McCartan (Mike); step-siblings, Anthony Gaw (Connie) & Cyndi Gaw and by his extended family & many good friends.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, at Morton & Whetstone funeral home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Andrew Smith at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 1, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 East National Road, Vandalia. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Bob to the Alzheimer’s Association or Boy Scouts of America.
