Wayne dedicated over 27 years of his career to Machine Products Corp as a skilled tool and die maker, where his craftsmanship and work ethic earned him the respect of many. His retirement marked the end of a fulfilling professional journey but paved the way for him to focus more on what he cherished most—his family.

Faith was an important part of Wayne’s life, and he enjoyed attending Calvary Baptist Church in West Alexandria, Ohio. He was known not only for his unwavering support and love for his family but also for his caring nature, always willing to help anyone in need. Wayne was everyone's favorite uncle, a proud uncle grandpa to his grandchildren, Caylin and Ethan Baker, and a devoted husband to his wife of 54 years, Linda.

Wayne had a passion for cars and was especially fond of Mopar vehicles, reflecting his unwavering affection for the open road and all things automotive. In addition to cars, he also enjoyed woodworking, creating treasured pieces for his family and friends. His ability to bring joy and warmth to those around him has left a lasting legacy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his brothers, Earl Hutchings and Rick Hutchings (Nancy); his sister, Mary Day (Dennis); his grandchildren, Caylin and Ethan Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Amber Steele (Mike), Nikki Studebaker (Matt), Kevin Hutchings (Jeanette), Christa Hutton (Kevin), April Hutchings, Lisa Merrit, Mike Hutchings, David Copley (Angie), Sherry Fleenor (Tim), Sheila Loranger (Jeff), Tina Davis (Rob), Crystal Elmore (Jimmy), Jennifer Begley, Lisa Baker, and Kelsey Benoit (Brian Howard).

Wayne reunites in eternal peace with his parents, Cecil and Hilda Hutchings; his son, Chad Hutchings; and his brother, Ross Hutchings.

A graveside service will be held at Arlington Cemetery in Brookville, Ohio, on December 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor Wayne’s memory and the impact he had on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his love, kindness, and the joy he brought into the lives of others.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N. County Road 25-A, Troy, Ohio 45373, in Wayne's memory.
