Butler Twp.

Robert Lee “Bob” Aldredge, Jr.

Age 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026, surrounded by love at Ohio Hospice on Wilmington Ave in Dayton.

Bob was born February 11, 1949 in Dayton, the eldest son of the late Robert Lee (Sr.) & Elsie Marie (Whittridge) Aldredge.

Bob grew up on the North Side of Dayton, graduating from Vandalia Butler in 1967, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in South Korea during the Vietnam War. Being the son and grandson of local entrepreneurs, Bob worked with his father at Container Services and after a few years of college established Dayton Container Mfg Co., which he owned and operated for over 20 years. Later, Bob worked for Clipper Courier for three decades, which he took great pride in and enjoyed the personal relationships he made along the way.

All who knew Bob will remember his easy-going manner, welcoming smile, kind heart, and sense of humor. Bob enjoyed restoring classic cars, especially Corvettes, building radio controlled model aircraft and model trains, and had a great love of music, photography, bicycling, camping, and many other hobbies and interests.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Stephen M. & Douglas D. Aldredge, who were his best friends; and by his former wife, Claudia.

Bob would share that his greatest accomplishment in life was raising his three daughters, Angel (Rob Elam) Aldredge, Holly Driscoll & Emily Aldredge. Also surviving are his first wife and mother of his children, Linda Waltz; their five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and by his extended family & many friends. The family would like to thank Bob’s doctors, nurses, aides, and therapists at Kettering Hospital’s Dayton Campus, Stonespring Skilled Nursing Facility, and the staff at Ohio Hospice, for the caring and kindness they showed him. It will never be forgotten.

Following the wishes of his daughters, a service and celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements and cremation handled by Morton & Whetstone.
