Robert Louis "Bob" Albert

lovingly known as Bob, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, friendships and stories that will be cherished for generations to come.

Bob was born on September 30, 1930, to Earl and Inez Albert, the ninth of eleven children. He spent his early years on the family farm in West Manchester, Ohio, before moving with his family to Dayton, Ohio, where he grew up.

In 1949, Bob met the love of his life, Marilyn J. Smith (June). They married in 1950 and built a life together, raising their two sons, Keith and Ricky. Bob was proud of his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He and June shared 74 years of marriage before her passing in January 2025.

Bob began working at Kuhns Brothers Foundry at 16 years old and remained there for more than 40 years. After retiring from Kuhns Brothers, he continued working at Vandalia-Butler Schools, where he became a familiar and beloved friend to many teachers and staff. Bob was the kind of person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. If someone needed him, he was there without hesitation.

An avid motorcyclist throughout his life, Bob loved the freedom and adventure that came with riding. In retirement, he found great joy in rebuilding Model A and Model T automobiles with his good friend, Ken Smith. He also loved trips to Lake Cumberland with his children and grandchildren.

Bob leaves behind his sons, Keith (Tina) and Ricky (Kim); grandchildren Lauren King (Darin), Neil Albert (Krissy), Amy Holtvedt (Jed) and Lindsay Garcia (Stevie); and great-grandchildren Harrison, Hannah, Mickey, Bo, Waylon and Ryder. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Bob will be remembered for his generous heart, hardworking spirit, love of family, passion for motorcycles and old cars and the many lives he touched along the way.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
