It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Dean Lewis, affectionately known as Rick, who departed this life on December 1, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio at the age of 65. Born on August 22, 1960, in Dayton, Rick lived a life full of purpose, dedication, and love.

Rick was a long-standing truck driver, proudly serving with Panther Premium Logistics and Dick Lavy Trucking for many years. His career was marked not only by his commitment to his work but also by the friendships he forged along the roads he traveled.

Beyond his professional life, Rick found immense joy in the simple pleasures. He loved spending time outdoors, particularly fishing, which brought him solace and happiness. He also cherished watching old movies and was a passionate fan of the Cincinnati Bengals. Those who knew Rick will remember him for his big heart and golden spirit. He would go above and beyond to help anyone in need, embodying true kindness. Many times, he could be found sitting on his porch, enjoying the moments of the day.

Rick was immensely proud of his family. He is survived by his parents, William and Shirley Lewis; daughter Sarah Lewis (Korey Grandi); sons Kristoffer Lewis (McKay Scadlock), and Sean Lewis (Caitlin); brothers Ron Lewis and wife Jan, and Rob Lewis and fiancée Laurie; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Evan, Izabella, Lilianna, Eleanor, Braylee, and Javaughn. Rick also leaves behind his special niece Brittany, aunt Marilyn (Dick), and his good friend Mary Sexton, along with many other relatives and friends who will remember him fondly.

Rick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rhonda, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.

A visitation to honor Rick's memory will take place on December 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM, both held at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 139 S. Dixie Dr, Vandalia, OH 45377.

Rick leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and a zest for life that touched all who knew him. His spirit will undoubtedly live on in the memories of his family and friends as they gather to celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man.
