Reverend Billy Gene Henderson April 26, 1950 – February 4, 2026
Reverend Billy Gene Henderson, age 75, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, in Tipp City, Ohio, at the home he built with his own hands. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 57 years and a host of family who loved him deeply.
Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Edith; his father, Virgil; his brothers, Ricky and Ray; his sister, Maxine; and his great-grandson, Ezra.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Janie (Mahaffy) Henderson; his children, Jeffrey Henderson, Brian and Nicki Henderson, and Shelley and Shannon Wells; his grandchildren, Dustin Zimmer, Taylor Henderson, Billy Henderson, Nickolas Henderson, Kaitlynn Wells, and Kassidy Wells; and his great-grandchildren, Carder Zimmer and Milo and Jonah Frost. He is also survived by his sisters, Judy Hatfield, Linda Parks, and Cathy Marlow, along with many wonderful in-laws, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends whom he loved dearly.
At a young age, Billy moved from Tennessee to Ohio with his brother Ricky. It was there that he met the love of his life, Janie. Together, they built an incredible life from the ground up—through hard work, faith, and unwavering commitment to family. Billy was an exceptional carpenter who could fix anything, and he took great pride in creating and providing with his own hands. He also loved to fish!
Billy felt a calling to spread the Gospel, a calling he answered wholeheartedly and never turned away from. God became the central focus of his life, guiding his actions, his ministry, and his love for others. He lived his faith daily and shared it freely with anyone willing to listen.
Billy will be remembered for his strong hands, his faithful heart, his servant spirit, and his deep love for his family and friends. His legacy of faith, hard work, and devotion will live on through all who were blessed to know him.
