Raymond W. Zupp
Age 91, of Vandalia, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Ray was born June 3, 1934 in Ellenville, New York to the late Alvin & Edith (Van Keuren) Zupp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Yovonne Elaine (Decker) Zupp in 2017; his brother, Robert Zupp; and sister, Catherine Weddell.
Ray was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church for the past 36 years. He and his wife established the North Dixie and Englewood Hardware stores. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Ray was quite an accomplished woodworker and could fix anything.
Ray is survived by four children, Karen Novak (Fred), Raymond “Bud” Zupp (Susan), Mary-Eileen Moorman (George), and Nancy-Ann Zortman (Mark); eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and by his extended family & many good friends.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, at Poplar Hill Cemetery in Vandalia. Deacon Mark Bade will officiate. Morton & Whetstone funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local Hospice in Ray’s memory.
