Raymond E. “Butch” Kunk
Age 59, of Dayton, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, December 13, 2025. He was born February 7, 1966 to Eugene Kunk and the late Susan Stouffer-Steele.
Butch was a 1984 graduate of Indian Lake High School and was formerly employed with the City of Dayton and Vandalia Blacktop. He was a true “go-fast guy” with a passion for snowmobiling. He loved spending time with friends at Indian Lake and riding the trails in Michigan. He was never happier than when he was out on the snow, feeling the rush of speed and freedom.
Butch is survived by his father, Gene Kunk (June), sister, Deb Hanselman and her husband, Bart; nephews, Matt Hanselman and his wife, Claire, and Jake Hanselman; niece, Rachel Hanselman; grand nieces and nephew, Violet, Ruby, and Cypress Hanselman; stepsister, Kimberly Long and her husband, Todd, and their children Ashlyn, Makenna, and Isaiah. He was preceded in death by his beloved aunt, Pat “Patty Pat” Kunk.
Butch had a big heart and cared deeply for his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him, but we find comfort in knowing that God has made a place for him and that he now rests in His care.
The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, Saturday, December 27, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Butch to Ohio’s Hospice.
