Raphael Pascal “Pat” Gilbert

Passed away at Hospice of Dayton on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the age of 98 years and seven months. He was born on December 6, 1927 to Carl and Cretie (Williams) Gilbert in Tazewell, Tennessee.

He worked at Chrysler as a machine operator in the machine shop, retiring in 1986 after 34 years of service.

Pat was proud to have been the recipient of his 60-year membership certificate in the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio. He joined the John Cissna Lodge # 744 F&AM in February of 1962.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 70 years, Imogene; an infant brother, Carson; a sister, Oneida; a brother, Charles; a granddaughter, Lisa Vance; and several nieces and nephews.

Pat is survived by his only daughter, Judy Yoakum and her husband, Kenneth; a grandson, Ed; sister, Georgia; brother, William; six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 18, at Morton & Whetstone funeral home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City, Ohio.
