“Randy”

Age 86, of Butler Twp., passed away Monday, July 20, 2026, at The Hospice of Dayton (Ohio’s Hospice). Randy was born August 8, 1939 in Dayton to the late Randolph H. (Sr.) & Theresa J. (Papp) Dirks. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Penny L. (White) Dirks in 2013; his second wife of 12 years, Billy Jo (White) Dirks in 2026; and by one grandson, Jason Kyle Miller in 2002.

Randy retired from General Motors – Inland Div. with 32 years of service. He and his wife Penny greatly enjoyed their time fishing & boating at their summer home at Grand Lake St. Mary’s. Randy was part of the first class to complete the Good Samaritan Hospital Cardiac Rehab Program in which he participated for over 30 years – holding the longest record.

Randy is survived by two daughters, Tammy L. Miller & her husband, James K. Miller and Debbra A. Fairburn & her husband, Rob L. Fairburn; two grandchildren, Douglas Michael Miller and his wife, Ashley and Tyler L. Fairburn; two great grandchildren, Jason Michael and Wyatt James; one brother, Gary Dirks & his wife, Barbara; nephew, Tim Dirks & his wife, April and their children, Dylan & Angelia; and by his extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 23, at the First Baptist Church of Union, 219 Shaw Road, Union. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Kincer officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Morton & Whetstone funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Randy to The Hospice of Dayton.
