Randall Vernell Jones

Randall Vernell Jones, 83, of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026, surrounded by family at his home in Vandalia, Ohio. Randy was born August 14, 1942, in Herrin, Illinois, to the late Leslie and Maudie (nee Tilley) Jones. Earlier in life, he attended the Vandalia Rec Center regularly. Randy also loved golf and watching the Indy 500 race whenever he could. He loved spending time with his family, with special love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Randy leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Nancy (nee Banta); sons Mitchell (Tina G) Jones of Hamilton and Matt Jones of Vandalia; daughters Angela (Josh) Swaney of Hebron, Kentucky and Alison Jones of Columbus, Ohio; brother Ray Jones of Vandalia; five grandchildren Mitchell Jones, Olivia Douglas, Sophia Swaney, Izzabelle Swaney, and Owen Swaney; four great grandsons Jake, Jon, Wesley, and Oliver; also leaving behind extended family and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Leslie Jones; his mother, Maudie (nee Tilley) Jones; and his brother William Jones.
