DEUBNER, Ralph G., age 72 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Ralph, or “Gregg” as he was known to his family was born, December 18, 1952, to his parents, Ralph A. and Mae (Gwin) Deubner. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Ron Deubner. He is survived by his beloved sister, Kristy Deubner (Apryl Holland), their children, Jeff Holland (Sarah Krosse) and Erin Holland (Zac Messer); niece, Amy Shipman (Gary); nephew, Jeremy Deubner. He is also survived by his loving companion, Belinda Elworth and her family, who graciously accepted him into their family as one of their own, especially little 5-year-old Raelynn, who melted his heart and wrapped him around her little finger.
Ralph graduated from Meadowdale High School, Class of 1971. He had several jobs in the area before he started working for the City of Dayton. He worked for the city for many years and retired as a housing inspector.
Ralph loved the outdoors. He enjoyed riding on many area bike paths. An avid gun and knife collector, Ralph enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a passion for restoring old cars. An animal lover, Ralph had a special fondness for cats. Not only did he always have a cat in his house, but he had cat videos on his social media page.
Ralph had a quick wit and a sarcastic sense of humor. His kind heart and laughter brought joy to those around him.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Thursday, September 25 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia with Pastor Michael Malcosky officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:30 pm until time of service.
