Phyllis Joe Kennedy

Age 67, of Brookville, passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Phyllis was born December 31, 1957 in New Madrid County, Missouri to the late Willard & Betty J. (Brooks) Klein. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Felix Carrera.

Phyllis was a U. S. Army veteran serving as a nurse. She was also part of the first group of female soldiers trained for combat. She went on to work as a nurse for many years. Phyllis was an accomplished fisherwoman who liked fishing for crappie. She also enjoyed mushroom hunting in the spring-time of the year.

Phyllis is survived by her husband & partner of the past 29 years, J. B.; brother, Willard, Jr. & his wife, Cindy Klein; niece, Katie Klein; nephew, Matthew Klein; sisters, Elaine Carrera, Regina Hinton & her husband, Marv and Sylvia Greeder,

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
