MARTIN, Patricia A. “Patty” (Puchalski), 72, of Northridge, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on Aug. 13, 1949. Patty attended Queen of Martyrs Catholic School through 8th grade and graduated Northridge High School in 1967. She was a tax preparer for H & R Block for over 40 years. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph V. & Mary “Ike” (Westerheide) Puchalski; brothers, Gary & Steve Puchalski; husband, Joe Martin. Survived by her brother, Dale Puchalski (Debbie); sister, Bonnie Puchalski; her children, Jeff Davis, Jodi Stratton (Roy “Tbone”), Gaile Kanak (Mary) and Dale Kanak; grandchildren, Curtis, J.J., Dillon, Maggie, Jones, Emily, Eli, Abby & Taylor; great grandchildren and nieces & nephews; Joe’s daughters, Carissa Martin and Lori Oregon; Joe’s grandchildren and great grandchildren; extended family, Julie, Missy, Tammi & Darla; many, many friends including her Shingle Shack family. She was the oldest of 5 children. Patty worked 2 jobs at age 16 (The Charburger and the Tax Office on North Dixie). She was always a dependable, reliable & dedicated worker. Patty enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed preparing food and decorating for weddings & graduations. In her younger years, she enjoyed hosting parties for the holidays on Shady Knoll and camping at Ohio Brush Creek. She started preparing taxes when her children were in school. She was still available during the summer months for her pool gatherings with friends, family, and the neighborhood kids. She was a taxi for the kids until they were able to drive. She was a loving mother and supportive of whatever they chose in life. Patty married Joe in 1992 when she moved to Saint Mary’s lake and worked at H & R Block in Celina. She made countless more friends boating on the lake. She was known to be the safest captain by her passengers and other boaters, but managed to also be the most fun. She enjoyed visiting new places especially with the “Girls” (Mother’s Day group). She was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and 30 year affiliate of the Shingle Shack, where she also worked for a few years. The people there were not just close to her home, but also close to her heart. Funeral service 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Rev.
