Mildred "Millie" Hoke

Mildred “Millie” Hoke, age 78, of Vandalia, Ohio, passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends in Vandalia, Ohio on Wednesday September 23, 2026. Millie was born in Centralia, Illinois on September 28, 1947 to the late Willard and Fern Raleigh. In addition to her parents, Millie is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Bryan Charles Brun, and her brother James Raleigh.

Millie is survived by her children, Tim Krum (Late Amy), Trish Downey (Shane), Julie (Ron) Read, and Matthew (Kasey) Brun; 11 grandchildren Ashley Thompson, Zach Hanna, Austin (Haley) Krum, Mark (Alexis) Crow, Jake (Taylor) Krum, Caleb (Lily) Downey, Dylan (Cayla) Downey, Kaz, Lucas Read, Ethan Brun, and Maddy Read; 13 great-grand children ranging from 7 months to 14 years old; her brother Fred (Carol); her sister-in-law Christine (Late James) Raleigh, special friends Rita (Doug) Guinn and Teddy (Jack) Clark; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.

Millie was a hardworking, dedicated worker and friend. She retired from General Motors after 30+ years.. She continued her work with the VFW Post #9582 and AMVETS Post #99 for the last 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and had a strong love for animals.

Millie leaves behind a lifetime of hard work, laughter, love, and memories that will be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her. Her spunkiness (and sneezes) may have gone quiet, but the love she shared and the joy and laughter she brought into the lives of others will live on forever.

Family and Friends are welcomed to visit from 11:00am - 12:30pm Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Morton and Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, Ohio . Graveside service 1:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery in Tipp City.

A Celebration of Life will occur on Saturday October, 10, 2026 at AMVETS Post #99 (1123 S. Brown School Rd, Vandalia, OH) beginning at 5:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Millie’s memory to Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
