Maureene A. Owen

OWEN, Maureene A., age 83 of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at her residence. She was born July 21, 1930 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Frank & Margaret (Smedley) Nardini. Maureene was a graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School and served the Vandalia-Butler City Schools as a Bus Driver for 20 years. Preceded in death by her husband, Vernon E. Owen in 2007, 2 brothers, Raymond & Richard Nardini and 1 sister, Brenda Anderson, Maureene is survived by her children, David A. Owen (Pamela) of Vandalia; Cynthia Owen of Union, Linda Owen & Karen Owen, both of Vandalia; 5 grandchildren, John, Gina, A.J., Abby & Kimberly; 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 26 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Maureene's memory.
