Matthew J. Brown, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend, coach, and colleague, passed away on November 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of boundless energy, laughter, and love. Born on May 15, 1974, Matt lived life fully and fiercely, touching countless lives along the way.

Matt was known for his warm smile, kind and loving spirit, quick sense of humor, unwavering loyalty, and deep patriotism. His signature whistle could gather a room or simply let you know he was nearby. A man who thrived on momentum, Matt was a ball of energy—constantly in motion except for the rare hours he allowed himself to rest—always keeping everyone on their toes.

He was happiest with a project in hand or an adventure ahead. A skilled DIY enthusiast, avid hunter, passionate basketball fan, motorcycle rider, fitness lover, and all-around outdoorsman, Matt embraced every interest with enthusiasm. He was a fantastic chef, an artistic soul, and a die-hard Kentucky Wildcats basketball and Ohio State Buckeye fan. His love of ice cream and cereal was legendary and brought out his playful side.

Matt graduated from Carroll High School in 1992 and earned his B.A. in Organizational Communications from Wright State University in 1999, where he proudly served as a men’s basketball manager. These experiences helped shape many of his lifelong friendships and passions.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Ellen Brown, and their oldest son Logan Brown (Mia Andrews-Pope) grandson Wyatt Brown, and youngest son Alex Brown (Chloe Britton) . He is also survived by his parents, Jim Brown and Becky (Beaumont) Brown, and his brother Anthony Brown, his wife Amy (Beck) Brown, and their children, nephew Jaden Brown and niece Kinsley Brown.

Matt is additionally survived by his father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Marcia (Morehouse) Musk, and his sisters-in-law Stephanie (Musk) Pabst and her husband Robert, their children Nathaniel, and Olivia, as well as Lauren (Musk) Ammon and Bradley, along with their children Tyler and Zac. Numerous extended family members, friends, players and colleagues—along with all who were fortunate enough to know him—will forever feel the impact of his bright, unstoppable presence.

Matt lived with purpose, joy, and an endless capacity for love. His memory will be carried forward in the stories told, the laughter shared, and the many lives he touched.

May he rest in peace.
