In Loving Memory
Margaret Griffith
February 14, 1930 – June 3, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Margaret Griffith, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, who left us on June 3, 2025, at the age of 95.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Nolan and Maude Jones; her husband, Bill Griffith; her siblings Wendell Jones, Billy Jones, Ruth King, and Eugene Jones; and her faithful dog, Betsy, who brought her endless companionship.
She shared many joyful years with her devoted partner, Thomas Russo, whose love and companionship brought her strength and happiness. Margaret was a proud and loving mother to her children, Shirley and Mike, with a bond that remained constant throughout her life. Shirley, her daughter, was also her primary caregiver, best friend, and closest confidant – a relationship marked by deep, unconditional love and unwavering support.
Her legacy continues through her cherished family; her brother Breck Jones; her grandchildren Kevin and his partner Jennifer, and their children Eliott and Brenna, whose lives she lovingly followed and lived vicariously through; Brian and his partner Victor; Jamie and his daughter Isabel; Jason and his partner Mindy, and their sons Aro and Boone; Sarah and her partner Andrew; and Hannah. Family was everything to Margaret, and each member filled her life with deep pride, immense joy, and love.
While Margaret had a heart full of compassion and a gentle touch, she also had a wonderfully cheeky side. Her sharp wit, playful sense of humor, and knowing smile kept everyone on their toes and often left us laughing when we least expected it. That spark of mischief was one of the many ways she made life brighter for those around her. She treasured countless joyful moments with family, including many funny and heartfelt phone calls with her nephew Mark, whose conversations filled her days with laughter and kept their bond strong despite the miles between them.
Margaret found joy in life’s simple pleasures – sipping coffee on the patio, gathering around the kitchen table, and spending time with loved ones. She lived a life rooted in love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her home was a haven of warmth, where laughter echoed, comforting meals were shared, and beloved pets were cherished as family. Her love for her pup Chicken Wing and grandpup Moose was evident in the way they brightened her face and brought laughter to her days.
A private/family celebration of her life will be planned at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.
She will be missed beyond words and loved forever.
