Mildred Louise “Lucy” Swafford

Age 86, of Troy (Monroe Twp) passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at her home. Lucy was born June 15, 1932 in McMinnville, TN to the late Lonnie & Loney (Robinson) Matheney. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by one sister, Billie Florence Ledbetter.

Lucy was a long-time member of the Tipp City Church of the Nazarene and she will be remembered by her family as being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband of the past 66 years, Al Swafford; son, Allen Swafford (Linda); brother, Lonnie “LT” Matheney (Geraldine); sister, Mary Anne Whittaker; grandson, Brandon Swafford (Tiffany); three great grandchildren, Landon, Carson and Carlee; and by her extended family & many good friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday (8/11) at the Tipp City Church of the Nazarene, 1221 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Pastor Ron Reynolds will officiate. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery in Vandalia. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday at the church and from 1:00 p.m. until time of service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Lucy to the Tipp City Church of the Nazarene.
