Lora Lu Birchfield

BIRCHFIELD, Lora Lu, age 76 of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Stonespring Care Center. She was born December 10, 1935 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Lloyd & Chrissie (Boyer) Grimes. Lora was a retired beautician and Owner of the Lora & Marcies Beauty Salon. She was a member and Past Matron of the Englewood Chapter O.E.S. #563. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Birchfield in 2001, Lora is survived by her sons, Marc Birchfield (Diane) and Michael Birchfield (Susan); daughter, Marla Sellman (Bill); brother, Michael Grimes (Judith); sister, Judith Adams; 7 grandchildren, Loryn, Grant, Jeffrey, Shane, Christina, Michelle & Michael; 4 great-grandchildren, Kylea, Emma, Brenna & John, her beloved dog, Sassy and numerous other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 11, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Jerry Collins officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Englewood Chapter O.E.S. #563 in Loras memory.
