Linda K. Ashburn
Age 80, of Tipp City, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Linda was born April 7, 1945 in Cookeville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtie Bartlett; brother, James Bartlett; sister, Shirley Hunter; and by a grandson, James Ashburn.
Linda was a long-time member of First Light Church in Vandalia. Together with her husband, she established Jim’s Donut Shop in Vandalia in 1968 and they retired in 2006. During that time they both worked long hours, she knew the names of all of her regular customers (and their usual orders) and she could always be counted on to greet customers with a smile.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of the past 60 years, James D. Ashburn; two children, James D. II & his wife, Sherry and Missy Ashburn; four grandchildren, Alec, Megan, Jacob & Alyssa; sister, Faye Coffman; and by many nieces & nephews and good friends.
The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 14, at First Light Church, 140 Elva Court, Vandalia. Funeral services will beheld at 1:00 pm with Rev. David Starry and John Seagraves officiating. Interment will be at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Morton & Whetstone funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Linda to the James Cancer Center, the Miami Valley Hospital Oncology Unit, First Light Church or to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County.
