Lee M. Gossett

Age 99 of Dayton, Ohio, went to his heavenly home on December 19, 2025. He was born on January 27, 1926 in Somerset, KY.

Lee was raised on a farm, the youngest of nine children. When his sweetheart’s family moved to Indiana, he followed, and they were married in 1949. They all moved to Dayton in 1955, where he became an owner/operator in the tucking profession. He retired in 1994. Lee loved playing his Martin guitar and singing bluegrass gospel, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Inda (Jones) Gossett; all of his siblings, Dennis, Dorothy, Dale, Alta, Glen, Edna, Bert and Bertha; son-in-law, Dan Sammons; and by several nieces & nephews.

Lee is survived by his wife of 76 years, Nelva (Dunagan) Gossett; son, Curt (Brenda) Gossett; daughter, Karen Sammons; grandchildren, Bret (Christina) Gossett, Melanie (Curt) Keels, Emily (Jon) Fowler; great grandchildren, Gavin, Dylan, Ava, Sophia and Gabriel; and by his extended family & many good friends.

Lee gave his life to Jesus as a teenager and was a faithful member of Vandalia Baptist Temple.

The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 am to 11:30 am on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Vandalia Baptist Temple, 724 Helke Road, Vandalia, Ohio 45377. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 am with Pastor Rick Washburn officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Lee to the Vandalia Baptist Temple.
