Kenneth Wayne Boutwell
Age 62, of Beavercreek Township, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at The Hospice of Dayton. He was born July 31, 1963 at Ramy Air Force Base, Agua Dia, Puerto Rico to Earnest C. and the late Carolyn F. Boutwell. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Renae. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Carol L. (Smith) Boutwell; his father, Earnest Boutwell; his son, Ryan Boutwell and his wife, Megan; his daughter, Jennifer Bacher and her husband, Kevin; six grandchildren, Emma, Owen, Kinley, Kadence, Kerrigan and Kamden; his brother, Richard Boutwell, Sr. and his wife, Tanya; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Smith and Elizabeth Smith; brothers-in-law, Richard Smith and Thomas Smith II; niece, Michelle Smith; nephews, Jason Smith, Richard Boutwell, Jr. and Justin Boutwell; and by his extended family & many good friends.
Wayne was a graduate of Lakenheath American High School, 1981. He served in the U. S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB and Hurlburt Field 1st Special Operations Wing. Wayne was a graduate of Park College (BA Management), and THE Ohio State University (BS Geomatics Engineering). He was employed by the Montgomery County Engineers Office as Chief Surveyor. Wayne was recently awarded Surveyor of the Year for the state of Ohio. He was proud of his accomplishments as well as those of his children.
Wayne loved to travel with his wife, Carol, especially to the beach. He also loved to work on and race his Buick Grand National with his friend Mike Schwabb.
The family will be receiving friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, at Morton & Whetstone funeral home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Wayne to either: The Hospice of Dayton, Greene County Animal Resource Center, University of Cincinnati, giveto.UC.edu/give, The Liver Transplant Program Fund or to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.
